Always Tired and Have No Energy?

Always Tired and Have No energy ? You’re Not Alone!

Are you always tired and running on empty, no matter how much you sleep? Feeling drained, foggy, and lacking energy can take over your life, making simple tasks feel impossible. Persistent fatigue, brain fog, and unexplained aches could be signs of chronic fatigue, ME, or fibromyalgia — conditions that leave you exhausted day after day.

Understanding the causes and knowing the steps to reclaim your energy is the first step toward feeling like yourself again.

Does This Sound Like You?
  • Feeling drained all the time, even after a full night’s sleep
  • Mental fog – it’s hard to focus, think clearly, or remember things
  • No energy for evenings, weekends, or social activities
  • Sleep problems, despite feeling completely exhausted
  • Persistent headaches that never seem to ease
  • Feeling stressed or anxious for no clear reason
  • Digestive issues that keep getting worse and flare for no reason

If these symptoms resonate, you’ve come to the right place.

Recovery is possible, even if there’s no instant cure when dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), ME or, if you also have unexplained pains around the body, fibromyalgia.

What’s the difference between Chronic Fatigue, ME or fibromyalgia?

ME is short for myalgic encephalomyelitis. The term ME tends to be used if the main symptoms are brain related such as confusion or memory issues.

Myalgia is a medical term for muscle pain and encephalomyelitis is inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.

Whilst CFS, short for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, was used when there were symptoms of long-lasting exhaustion without brain inflammation. Nowdays, both ME and CFS are now used interchangeably.

Fibromyalgia, which is often shortened to fibro, involves chronic fatigue with unexplained pain.  However, unlike in arthritis, the pain in fibro is not generally related to joints, bones or muscles but rather to the nervous system.  It is believed that the wiring of the nervous system is such that it doesn’t process the pain signals from the various parts of the body in quite the right way.

All three conditions share common symptoms:

  • extreme tiredness and low energy
  • dizziness,
  • aching muscles,
  • headaches and brain fog,
  • digestive issue

And much more. Any number of triggers can tip you into these chronic conditions. You may be ‘labelled’ as suffering from CFS and ME if you have had chronic fatigue for at least 6 months.

So, the always tired and no energy feeling might be due to CFS or ME and if involving pain then fibromyalgia but it could also be due to any number of other underlying issues.

The thing to remember is you can get better!  The earlier you get support, the quicker you can be on your road to recovery.

What causes Chronic Fatigue, ME and fibromyalgia?

Although any number of causes can tip you into CFS, ME and fibromyalgia, a viral infection is often a known trigger. Hence why there is now more interest in Chronic Fatigue and ME following COVID.

Over the last few years, post-COVID fatigue and post jab-fatigue have increased the number of people experiencing chronic exhaustion.

Symptoms That Might Signal CFS, ME, or Fibromyalgia

Do you relate to any of these?

  • Exhaustion that never goes away
  • Muscle aches or pains for no reason
  • Digestive problems that flare easily
  • Brain fog and trouble concentrating
  • Poor or unrefreshing sleep
  • Racing thoughts or anxiety
  • Frequent headaches

If so, recovery is possible. While there’s no quick fix, understanding your symptoms and taking practical steps can accelerate your path to health.

If so, you ‘ve come to the right place. With support you can take back control of your health and wellbeing. Although there isn’t a quick fix or a magic pill for CFS, ME or fibro, a return to health can be accelerated.

But, if its’ not CFS, ME or Fibro,  Why Am I Always Tired?

While chronic fatigue, ME, and fibromyalgia are common explanations, persistent exhaustion can also stem from other underlying health issues. The important thing to remember is that you can feel better. Early support and guidance can speed up your recovery and help you regain energy.

Getting a Diagnosis:

There is no simple test for a quick diagnosis but rather a process of elimination.  So, you should consult your GP to rule out other conditions such as kidney disease, or heart issues.

Nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances, a high toxic burden such as heavy metals, undiagnosed infections are just some of the factors that may be contributing to symptoms. In addition to which emotional trauma and Adverse Childhood Events are often a factor which is why to ensure full recovery a holistic approach is preferred.

Because there are so many aspects to why you might feel tired all the time, many people feel unwell for years before getting a clear diagnosis.

You may be referred on to a specialist within the NHS depending on which body system seems to be the one that seems most vulnerable or most problematic.  There are private tests not available on the NHS that can also help you to understand what is going on.

If you’re always tired and have no energy, whether it’s CFS, ME, fibromyalgia, or another underlying issue, support is available. With the right approach, you can take control of your recovery and start feeling more like yourself again.
